Gas Safety Week is now into its second decade of keeping people safe and this year has an ongoing focus on keeping communities gas safe, as well as advising on topics such as illegal gas fitters, and avoiding carrying out DIY gas work on your own appliances.

Gas appliances that have not been maintained properly can cause gas leaks, fires, explosions and carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning. The Safe in your Home Installer Commitment is a pledge for installers to sign up for, enabling them to receive a pack of digital and physical tools to help them undertake work in customers’ homes safely and securely.

The Commitment intends to do two things:

* Give installers clarity on the correct social distancing and hygiene guidelines they need to be following when entering customers’ homes

* Give customers reassurance that any visiting installer who signs up to the commitment will have the knowledge and tools to take the right precautionary measures

The new tools have been designed by Worcester Bosch to help installers who carry out work in people’s homes to demonstrate that safety is the main focus for any boiler installation and home heating maintenance, particularly during these uncertain times.

We recognise the increased uncertainty that Coronavirus is causing. 

These are tough, unprecedented times, and the information and guidelines we get from government are changing daily. 

Due to ever changing circumstances, such as self-isolation, school closures, and daily developments, we as a business have decided to furlough all of our apprentices under the Government’s Coronavirus job retention scheme meaning they will be able to stay home and stay safe whilst knowing they are still going to be paid and will return to work in their job roles once we feel is is safe to do so.

During Pancake Day this year, we ran a poll on our Facebook and Twitter pages asking about preferred toppings ...

And the results are in with over 50% of the votes combined opting for orange/lemon and sugar (our favourite!)

Coming in at second place (only just!) was honey/ maple syrup

Third place was given to chocolate

and with just one vote (there must be more out there?!) we had a jam lover!

For those of you that got involved, We hope you enjoyed your pancakes with whatever toppings you chose -  we certainly enjoyed ours although we didn't use all the sugar shown on just one :)

In December, we announced that from January we would become Worcester Bosch Diamond Accredited Installers which is something we have worked very hard towards achieving.
